Delivery Driver

This is an 11 hr/week Delivery position for a cooperatively owned local flower market serving wholesale and retail buyers. 

Job Description + Application Instructions

The Market Delivery Driver at River City Flower Exchange reports to the Market Manager of the co-op and will be an essential part a

successful and smooth market day. Delivery Driver will be responsible for pulling complete orders from our walk-in cooler, verifying

completeness, loading vehicles, safely transporting fresh flowers in buckets of water to our wholesale and retail customers, unloading to customers, returning back to RCFE, and washing buckets on Wednesdays/Thursdays, 8:30a- 2:00p from March 18 -November 19. This shift end will vary depending on how many deliveries we have, it may be longer or shorter especially during our CSA, Spring/Summer/Fall.

They should be a safe and responsible driver who can navigate the city as well as surrounding counties.

Drivers must maintain current car insurance on their vehicle. Drivers should have a smartphone for routes and navigation. Drivers

should have a larger vehicle with a working air conditioner such as an SUV, hatchback, or van. No sedans, please, we require up to 48" of clearance for tall flowers. The Delivery Driver should be comfortable in a fast paced environment and able to lift buckets continuously throughout the morning. They will also be responsible for double checking that their assigned orders have every component before leaving the market. Some knowledge of flowers is a plus, or a willingness and ability to learn specific variety names. Delivery drivers represent the market while they are on deliveries and should be a friendly and helpful presence

when interacting with customers on their routes. Drivers should relay any communication or feedback from buyers back to the Market

Manager.

HOURS AND COMPENSATION

Wednesday/Thursdays 8:30am- 2:00p March 18- November 19

(There is the possibility of this shift extending for additional CSA subscriptions in summer + fall)

$16/hour plus mileage @ $0.67/ mile. 15 minute paid break on shifts over 5 hours.
